Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

See how much help we will ever get from Ukraine if we need them to come running to our aid. Just more corruption and money laundering for the crooked bastards at the top. I think public hangings would curb that bullshit in a hurry. jmo

What are they pissed about ?

A foreign head of state threatening to invade and annex their sovereign territory.

How would you feel if Xi Jinping threatened to invade and annex Hawaii because he felt he needed it for security?

Is it our goal to be loved by foreign countries.

No, but it should be our goal to be respected by them, which requires behaving in a respectable manner. Threatening an ally with invasion and occupation of their land is not a respectable thing to do. That's exactly what Putin does. And that's why civilized people generally don't respect Putin.

We are the military protectors, should we just end that ? I think the gravy train is over and they don’t like it ?

Nobody here said boo until Trump started talking about taking Greenland from Denmark. Most people here don't really care about politics, but Trump's threats against Danish territory really pissed off a lot of people, and rightly so. If Americans find it unacceptable for Putin to annex parts of Ukraine and for Xi to annex Taiwan, why should the American president be held to a different standard? Is that so hard to understand?

European libbies got their feelings hurt and probably expect another world-wide apology tour.

I wouldn't know what European liberals think. Everyone I associate with here votes conservative.

It's not about Ukraine running to our aid. What a bizarre suggestion. Ukraine is fighting our enemy, so we should help them. It's that simple. There's nothing I like about Ukraine, and I don't want any of their refugees. But I sure as hell admire and appreciate them for fighting and dying against Russia under Putin.

This is about a global proxy war against Russia, China, and Iran, as I have said over and over. We don't even have to be allies with a country to help them fight our enemies. It's just in our country's best interests to do so.

You're in to manly things.

I just find liberals to be ignorant and annoying, especially in Europe, so I prefer not to spend time with them. But yes, hobbies like hunting and shooting cause me to be exposed to other people who are into shooting and hunting, and they tend to be self-reliant and conservative.

My wife comes from 3 generations of small business owners. She has a sister-in-law who's a hippy dippy liberal, but none of us hang out with her, and the SIL annoys everyone when she talks politics at birthday parties.

If they are breaking the law, then something should be done. Do they have warrants? Are there exigent circumstances? We are a country of laws, and I like that about America. If the laws are bad, let's change them. If someone breaks the law, they should be punished accordingly.
The point is that many of them are valid US citizens or permanent residents in their own homes and not disrupting police activity. The door-to-door searches started about two weeks ago and are not targeting people who broke the law.

I'll take that as a compliment coming from you. You remind me of another guy that used to be on here until he got on everyone's nerves one too many times. jmho

Like I said, if someone is breaking the law, they should be punished accordingly. If the law sucks, people should call their representatives and make a stink. I don't know anything about the situation other than what a couple people said online. I would need something more substantial before I would feel comfortable having any more of an opinion on it. I haven't seen any articles about it so far, but I haven't really been looking.

You’re going to have to provide some actual evidence if you are making the claim that they are arresting citizens without warrant or witnessing a crime. I 100% believe that is partisan, non-factual, reporting.

People seem to forget that ICE, as a federal law enforcement agency, have the authority to arrest citizens when they violate federal law in their presence. Their authority isn’t exclusively limited to immigration.

This is from two days ago. DHS broke their door down and arrested a US citizen that was peacefully in their home in their underwear. They wouldn't even let him get his ID.

Propublica has a longer article where they have interviewed dozens of citizens that were arrested and held for hours up to several days. It's a long article but there are several links to videos of the citizens or residents getting arrested at jobsites that were not fighting ICE or police. https://www.propublica.org/article/immigration-dhs-american-citizens-arrested-detained-against-will

As far as the door-to-door searches, those are all over news sites. Here is an article which quotes residents describing the door-to-door searches taking place in the Twin Cities and V.P. J.D. Vance confirming the use of door-to-door strategy: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...invasion-federal-agents-flood-city-rcna254061

You're saying ICE is just randomly cruising streets and randomly breaking into houses to arrest random people for no reason? No way.

They are conducting searches for specific people, who more often than not, do not live alone. If you are in the US illegally, you are breaking the law and need to go. If a legal citizen with them disrupts police/ice activity, they should be arrested. They won't be deporting US citizens, but they should arrest those that break laws as they are doing their jobs looking for illegal immigrants.

I'm not interested in tit-for-tat bickering. If you have a legitimate argument I'd be happy to respond. Otherwise, no thanks.

If they have had 1000's of ICE agents there for weeks and weeks you would think most of the illegals have been caught or pushed out of the city. If I was an illegal with a criminal record I would have left that city the first night of ICE. Why would you fish the same lake 24 hours a day for weeks when there is lakes up the road full of fish?

Did you read the part of your story where ICE was looking for 2 sex offenders who lived at his house? Did they get the wrong guy? It looks like it, but I'll give the cops the benefit of the doubt over the guy living with 2 sex offenders.

Seems like some of the ICE agents are getting sloppy. Hard to know which stories are true and which aren't, but it's reasonable to suspect mistakes are being made. Fortunately, in our country, those who have been wronged have legal recourse. The Hmong guy said he'll sue:

ChongLy Thao says he’s planning to file a civil rights lawsuit against DHS

If his claim is legitimate, I hope he is compensated fairly.

The Liberian guy sounds like a piece of crap, so I hope the agents got it right with him. I don't know much about immigration law in the US, though.

I thought they said the sex offenders lived a couple blocks away. I may have misread it, though.

"The U.S. Department of Homeland Security described the ICE operation at Thao’s home as a “targeted operation” seeking two convicted sex offenders.

“The US citizen lives with these two convicted sex offenders at the site of the operation,” DHS said. “The individual refused to be fingerprinted or facially ID’d. He matched the description of the targets.”"

I don't see how there can be any lawsuit if a guy is harboring perverts and he is mistakenly as one if they look the same. I'm sure mistakes happen, but these officers are trying to arrest people who break the law. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt every time.

Theres always more to these stories. Authorities don’t just go busting down doors and arresting random people for fun.
