No, but it should be our goal to be respected by them, which requires behaving in a respectable manner. Threatening an ally with invasion and occupation of their land is not a respectable thing to do. That's exactly what Putin does. And that's why civilized people generally don't respect Putin.

Nobody here said boo until Trump started talking about taking Greenland from Denmark. Most people here don't really care about politics, but Trump's threats against Danish territory really pissed off a lot of people, and rightly so. If Americans find it unacceptable for Putin to annex parts of Ukraine and for Xi to annex Taiwan, why should the American president be held to a different standard? Is that so hard to understand?

It's not about Ukraine running to our aid. What a bizarre suggestion. Ukraine is fighting our enemy, so we should help them. It's that simple. There's nothing I like about Ukraine, and I don't want any of their refugees. But I sure as hell admire and appreciate them for fighting and dying against Russia under Putin.

This is about a global proxy war against Russia, China, and Iran, as I have said over and over. We don't even have to be allies with a country to help them fight our enemies. It's just in our country's best interests to do so.

I just find liberals to be ignorant and annoying, especially in Europe, so I prefer not to spend time with them. But yes, hobbies like hunting and shooting cause me to be exposed to other people who are into shooting and hunting, and they tend to be self-reliant and conservative.

My wife comes from 3 generations of small business owners. She has a sister-in-law who's a hippy dippy liberal, but none of us hang out with her, and the SIL annoys everyone when she talks politics at birthday parties.
