A video of people protesting the results of Venezuela's presidential election in 2024 has been miscaptioned online as showing street celebrations after President Nicolas Maduro was toppled in January 2026.

The people still in Venezuela are not the same Venezuelans that are in Florida.

The Venezuelans my wife and daughter talked with said they were looking forward to being able to go back to Venezuela.

Not even two minutes of using your favorite search engine will show dozens of news sources reporting on the fake videos or at best older videos with wrong captions. You asked for sources and they take almost zero effort to find.

No one is disputing that there Venezuelans here or that are in the country that are happy to see Maduro gone. I'm sure it's possible to find Venezuelans that have the opposite opinion too. Of course Trump and conservative media sources are going to try and paint the picture that Venezuelans are happy to justify what Trump has done. The fact that they are using AI videos or videos from years ago is worth pointing out. I wonder why they would need to do that?

I feel even better about not trying to be up to the minute searching for fake news.

I'll wait to see whether there's much actual change in Ven. is accurate. I think most of the Iran news is accurate as much of the population has wanted change for many years.

A golf course by me is owned by a university is now getting sold, mostly because the university doesn't want to deal with the clubhouse removal that has the same problems the old Fed building had.

Well I'm pretty sure we are in a full-scale global proxy war. I'm very interested to see how things go in Iran. It could have major implications for the Ukraine war. The Europeans seem keen to put the screws to the Chinese if the CCP decides to step in and fill the gap for the Russians. Not sure how the Russians will pay the Chinese since the Venezuela connection has been severed. Maybe that's why metals are on a tear: the Russians need something valuable to trade for weapons.

That's a good video, and I think he's right. It doesn't explain the entire global conflict, but he does a great job of explaining part of the proxy war we are fighting with China.

Trump is playing it all pretty close to the chest, but I hope in a couple years he and Rubio explain to Americans the reasons for the current military strategy. That would really help to pull the natsec voters back into the Republican party.

OK, I’ve got a conspiracy theory. And it’s just my opinion.

And this comes from watching what has gone on with Minnesota and all the fraud that has recently been exposed.

Big cities that have perpetual poor people are keeping them poor and uneducated on purpose.
Like NY/Portland/Seattle/Chicago/Detroit/San Francisco/Baltimore and on and on….
All of the homeless, education, crime, welfare are a business for politicians. They are keeping all the bellow standard living going on intentionally so they can skim tax money from it and line their own pockets pretty much out in the open front of taxpayers.
Decades of the same inner city problems and they never get better because they don’t want them too, it’s big money.
Of course there are some programs that are legit and that do good but I think a large percentage are just scams to keep it going indefinitely.

I also think the recent issues tie into it like; BLM/Trans/Immigration are the same type of Ponzi schemes that whip up the feeble minded and help corrupt politicians get richer and it’s all connected.

None of it makes any sense that this stuff goes on and on causing staged riots/protests and shootings…it’s a business.
