Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

Republicans were never winning the middle terms unless the country was absolutely booming. Historically it just about always goes against the party currently in office.

It'll be interesting to see how the country feels about the economy/affordability after April 15. If the narrative of the BBB being a tax cut for the wealthy is confirmed to many, it won't be pretty for Republicans. I expect a stimulus of some sort to buy the poor's votes before the mid terms.

So if we all get a "tariff rebate" of about 2K and it gets spent stupidly, which I'm sure most of it will, what will happen to the rate of inflation?

It will roar back. Tariff rebate is the dumbest idea I’ve heard.
Oh come on Bill. That can't be the dumbest idea you've heard.
I heard last night, from a pretty reliable source, that I won't have to pay for some of my prescriptions anymore. In fact the math I did indicated I'll actually get paid to take them.

1000-400%= -3000. Sign me up for that deal.

I think we are being lied to on the Venezuela drug boats. I think it has something to do with Russia, or possibly oil.

The amount of drugs coming via Venzuela is a drop in the bucket, and I can't imagine Maduro really cares about some drug boats, even if he's making money from them. Plus, you don't need a carrier battle group to blow up a few drug boats.

The whole thing seems like a flimsy excuse to position a fleet in the Caribbean for some other reason. Maybe they want to take down the Maduro regime and install a new one that will give us favorable terms on oil. Maybe they're trying to counter Russian influence in the region. I can't figure it out yet, but there must be an ulterior motive.

If you really give a shit about drugs (which they don’t, half of DC is a coke heads) declare all out war on Mexico. Venezuela is just an easy target distraction from something else

Venezuela is sitting on top of a bunch of OUR oil. How dare they!

If you really care about drugs (fentanyl) you don’t pardon bad guys that our law enforcement spent years building damn near impossible cases on.

If you really care about drugs you don’t reschedule weed from sched 1. Weed is how the whole fentanyl precursor scam financing works for the scumbag Chinese. JUST like how the Sinaloa Cartel produced and sold weed in order to finance taking over the cocaine transportation and distribution in the U.S. from the Colombians. This rescheduling move will be a green light to the big banks that were ALREADY laundering billions of dollars in illegal drug proceeds while pretending not to notice. Just made moving that money 100x easier even internationally.

If you really care about drugs (and immigration) you go to town on the giant “legal” weed grows in Oklahoma and SoCal staffed by Chinese nationals who may or may not have work docs. These people, even the ones who came with documents, are living in indentured servitude so losers can go to a local “legal” dispensary and buy the black market weed on the “legal” market that came in the back door…. All grown by Chinese who would have been better off breathing coal smoke and working in some trashy factory. Welcome to America, here is your chicken coop to live in until your debt is paid to Chinese organized crime.

It’s all bs.

You sound a bit different than when this thread started 😁
I'm not buying any of this BS, I want no war with Venezuela. The appetite our government has for war is disgusting. This is not what I voted for.
Like was already stated, if this was about drugs we'd be Lazer focused on our southern neighbor.

If this was about drugs we'd be Laser focused on treating the users and prevention of use. As long as you have a buyer you'll have several suppliers. Free market and Capitalism will rule.

Not sure what you mean- I’m the same old bozo I’ve always been lol.

I’m fairly in tune with how the drug world is working right now

The ship that was seized was sanctioned during the Biden administration for being part of a network that was smuggling oil to fund Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group backed by Iran. The ship was controlled by the Russian oil smuggler Viktor Artemov. He's been known to mostly smuggle Iranian oil. The ship was flying the flag of Guyana which neighbors Venezuala, but Guyana has no ties with it.

It is like any other complex problem- it has many causes and reasons and one solution doesn’t fix it. It needs many solutions. Mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment and enforcement. Chip away at it from all angles. Never going to go away just like driving drunk or murder or burglary never goes away.

We are pretty good at enforcement but going after the money is the current problem. Moving money electronically isn’t being slowed down in the least. This is street dealers to the highest level of the cartels. Making the moving of money difficult causes the cartels problems. Big problems- a former high level cartel member told me once that “you can’t pay a siccario with bitcoin”. Well…. It’s getting easier to do just that.

There are no payment grace periods in the drug world. Owing a cartel a million or two gets you dead. They don’t care why you are late. This is my end of the piece of the puzzle. And I want my friends and neighbors and local veterans with drug problems to get treatment. It isn’t an “either or” deal if that makes sense.

Russias biggest exports: crime and corruption.

Oklahoma has always been a "grow your own state". Everyone always knew it, but one still didn't advertise it, cause you could go to prison for it. I'm not exaggerating when I say you'd be stunned at the amount of people 45-80 yrs old that have smoked for decades in the closet. Now they can grow their own legally, which they were experts at already.
With the grow laws they started with so lax, everyone was growing, and that put a serious dent in weed imports from the south I'm sure. You know it attracted the attention of the people over the borders who lost those previous customers. So, they came here, and opened up many big illegal grows. Pretty easy to do in Oklahoma, as most of it's rural.
Interestingly, you'd think there would be a bunch of mexicans moving in to take care of that, but actually, it's been the Vietmanese/Burmese/whatever east indies that flooded in. Don't know if it's a Chinese thing or not.
Oklahoma now has been busting these illegal grows daily now for a couple of years, and they're starting to get a handle on it.

I live in Northeast Wisconsin about 9 miles from the Michigan border. Listened to a presentation from the local D. A. part of it was about the local weed shops.
They're legal in Illinois and Michigan but not Wisconsin. Local LEO has stopped customers who have driven from Illinois to Michigan to buy pot. I asked why would they leave one legal state, drive 4 plus hours through a nonlegal state, to buy pot. She said it was quality and price. She also said the bigger problem was the harder drugs, meth, coke, fentanyl that they brought with them. No doubt the harder stuff was for sale.

This^^^^^. Russia is funding the war on smuggling oil to China, Cuba and others. Oh and also because it fun to zap narco boats like a video game. I'm all on on both.

I am too. I love watching bad guys get blown up. Funker530.com is part of regular rotation. But I’m opposed to actually going in there with soldiers. Our track record on regime change is so so at best. I feel bad for the regular citizen that is under a dictatorship but revolutions are their responsibility I reckon.

There's some videos I watch on you tube, featuring ex special forces bad ass guys, and their opinions. These are the guys who got Ghadiffi, Bin Laden, Hussein, etc...
They'll say that everyone knows they're bad ass, they know they're bad ass, and normally special forces are used when groups like the cartel need to be dealt with. But, their opinion is the cartels have had decades to train for conflict, have the money for the best weapons, home-field advantage, and they believe it's going to take more than a small group of special forces to take on cartels.
I'm not a veteran myself, but I'm proud of and have major respect for all of our veterans. There's 400,000 veterans buried at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery and that's is the reason we should stand for the National Anthem. I would absolutely go to battle if I was needed, you can count on me for sure. But, I still want to stay away from any war, period.
But, I fully support picking off every one of these boats! Don't decommission those aging artillery shells, put them to good use, and keep hammering them. This should eventually cut off their money supply, one cut at a time!
