College Basketball

Hayes takes a lot of points from dekker, and Hayes didn't play well last night. That might have been dekkers best game of his career. He still has to improve.
I'm actually worried Hayes will leave just as much as dekker.
Did stone commit for sure? I didn't hear he did?

Stone hasn't committed yet. Still could be two months. Spring signing is some time in April.
Go to his Twitter account, I don't know if he is the best fit for the program. I can't believe Ryan couldn't land that kid from rice lake

As much as I love Bucky Basketball, is it football season yet?;)

I think it was good for you UW fans that you didn't land Henry. His brother Wally was at the UofM for two years and complained about playing time when there was a reason he wasn't on the court...just didn't belong in the B1G. I have also heard that their parents are tough to deal with. I guess that's what you get from Wisconsin folk ;):p

And the Gophers tamed the low life Hawkeyes in the nest tonight!

Diamond Stone is on ESPN U

Man, I would love nothing more for my failing Gophers to pull off a W in Madison today....Pound the Badge, Better Dead Than Red!

Tee he gofa**s

We look bored lately.

I didn't see the game before, but they reminded me of Pro ball yesterday...No urgency, just play for the last 5-10 mins of the game, if it's close enough to even have to at that point...Or, as badger wrote, bored. I suspect that will cost us the shot at a #1 seed with a L before the big 10 season is done. When everyone is saying all you have to do is show up to win, it's hard not to eventually believe that when you're still really just a bunch of big kids. If they do turn it up again without a needless L, it will be a testament to Bo that will go unnoticed by the majority. He need to light a big fire under them, IMO.

This game should have had a bigger spread with Decker going a crisp 1-8 from the field. Bo is getting nothing from his bench and the minutes on the regulars are taking a toll.

I think they know what's at stake. Tuesday will tell us a lot. Hopefully they put together a full 40 minutes.

Well, they played for about 17 mins tonight. Frankly, I'm glad they didn't steal it, as hopefully this teaches them a valuable lesson. It better, as it just cost them any chance at a #1 seed.

I'd give them 8 deep by the start of the tourney:

Past the current starting 5
T Jackson: most likely will be inserted back in starting lineup, but whether it's him or BK starting, his return adds 1
Z Showalter: doesn't even get a lot of mins now, but most times he's comes in he makes some good things happen
D Dukan: He really isn't a half bad player. Sure, he has his limitations, but a couple yrs ago, he'd likely have been a starter for Bucky at this point.

I'm not counting Vito Brown. He seems to play about the same minutes as Zak Showalter, but mostly just looks like he is getting minutes and filling space to me. He may be a future contributor, and these minutes should help in that regard, but not there yet. On other hand, when Zak is in I don't find myself hoping that the stint is brief each time. I find him fun to watch, as he mostly plays like the game isn't too big for him.

I'm not saying they will win a NT. I've watched a couple UK games. I doubt the Badgers could take more than 3 out of 10 against them, and 3 is probably wishful thinking. That said, I think the Badgers have a better chance than last year going in and they nearly were playing for the NT last year. That obviously doesn't mean they'll even do as well as last year, but I think "no chance" is too harsh. UK gets bumped by someone along the way and I see the Badgers as having as legit shot as anyone else.

That was a dang fun game to watch! I can't believe they kept fowling the three point shooter!

I thought the Spartys were going to have some momentum going into the Kohl center on Sunday but I guess not, always a tough place to play.

Izzo and the boys from MSU will be ready, just like always, so Bucky better pull his head and get to work!

Bucky got to work today! At least compared to the last few weeks. Manhandled Sparty, I really thought it would be more of a game.

Agreed, they are down a bit more than I had thought.

Thanks Mr Dawson for being in a funk. The worry is that Josh can't keep up with quick guards

Yea this isn't your typical sparty team, week ago I thought they had it figured out but guess not.

It's been like that for years now.

If you mean going all the way back to when Yoder was coaching, I agree. I can never remember a time when legitimately quick, penetrating guards didn't give the Badgers issues...It's the price of being a man D team. I honestly can't remember if the Yoder teams played man, zone or both, but it didn't matter with them, as they were almost exclusively filled with slow, uncoordinated WI dairy farm boys. As a rule of thumb, WI dairy farm boys make great football players and wrestlers, but basket ball, not so much.

I hope Dekker sticks for his senior season. Assuming he is doing decent in school (no clue) and he doesn't get hurt, I think it'd be a win/win for the team and him. I'm sure if he declares he'll get drafted, but I just don't see how he is ready for pro ball. He and the team would benefit from him investing another season in college, perfecting his shot before going in after his senior yr.
