Cold Stream Farm

Anyone having issues with cold stream farm this spring?

My shipment has been delayed for over a week. A package arrived and thought everything was good. I had it shipped to my parents place so they opened then and planted them. Then they asked why I ordered tiny trees. I said I ordered 2-3’, 18-24” and 12-18”. Three varieties, 5 each. What I got was (15) 12” black hills spruce from paint creek nursery. Never heard of that place. No clue what the hell is going on.

Sounds lime they might be buying from another nursery to fill orders.

I got some willows from them this spring that were a bit undersized for what I had ordered and thus far only 2/6 have leafed out...

Mine came dry as a bone. Planted them anyway, will see if any of them make it. Paid like $100 in shipping for a box the size of a shoe box that weighed like 4lbs. I think I am going to try out a new vendor next year.

I ordered Crabapples from a place online this year and they got delayed/lost in shipping . The original tracking said 5 days delivery , however the box took 15 days to get here and they were also dry as a bone, 3 trees had dried out looking blossoms , 1 tree was still dormant. NOT a ideal shipping time frame....The owner was awesome , refunded my money , told me to soak the roots for 24 hours , plant them and he thought they would live. All the trees are now leafed out and appear to be living . I'll water them twice a week and give them a year or two, to see if they are stunted . If they don't grow properly I will replace them. BUT so far so good....

My tamaracks arrived on date they said. We get trees from them regularly but mostly from Alpha Nursery in Holland Mi. We pick up when from Alpha, Coldstream is a little too far. Well, there's also no brewery nearby Coldstream.

Shipping in general has been horrible all the way around from what I've seen at work.
