Thanks for the link John. Just bought some 5 gallon root trappers for my grafting adventures

Can you guys provide some guidance. I am thinking of trying some of the root trappers so that I can grow and care for trees at home before transporting them to my farm. How big/tall of a tree can I expect with these bags? I see there are several sizes from 3-30 gallon.

I have 7 gallon root trappers that I bought last year for my grafting of trees. They worked great but I did plant all my trees in the ground after being in the rootrappers for a few months and the roots were not even close to being too big for the bags so now I am buying the 5 gallon bags but I think if you will keep them in for another year the 7 gallon bags might be better I have a tree in them now that is about 40 inches tall so the trees can stay in the 7 gallon bags for 2 years in my opinion

I did the five gallon bags for my grafts last year and planted 1/2 of them this fall. My roots were nowhere near the outsides of the 5 gal one....would consider the 3 gal if I was to use them again!

I wouldn't argue with that

Thanks John, just purchased the 3 gal plus a good amount of OP HP cuttings. Looking forward to a fun year of tree planting ahead!

Hey john I tried to order some of those random willows and I couldn't select a payment type. I want to pay with PayPal.
Also-is it possible to Id these willows after the first year? I'm gonna start them in my garden with some luminite, dig them up, and plant the actually plants next year. I'm finding this is my best way to plant hp. I mulch the plant when I plant, that sAves me from laying all that plastic.

I had that problem also when I purchased my bags but I left the site then came back and it worked

This seems to happen once in a while... Not sure why. Lots of people order just fine. I did recommend trying a different browser to a customer and it worked right away. He was using Internet Explorer and tried (either Chrome or Firefox, not sure which) a different browser and was all set.

The random willows are just that, random. I don't think you will be able to identify them, I couldn't at least.

Thanks,

-John

I got my order in John, looking forward to them. Try to get one of each of your willows if you can. I like the variety

How did you get it to work? I would really like to know why it does that to some people and not others????

(edit) Oh, and thanks for the order, we'll give you a good mix!

Thanks,

-John

Don't know I just tried it again and the payment options were there. I used safari on a Mac if that helps you.
Just out of curiosity how many acres to you have devoted to your operation? You must also have some pretty good soil over there to be able to propagate so many cuttings?

John I had the same problem. I hit the back button then the forward button and it was there.

I order some 7 gallon bags for hazel nuts I have coming from SLN. My plan is to plant them in the bags at my house and move them to camp later on. What do I do with them over winter if I want to wait for two years to plant. Do the bags have to be buried?

Those in ground containers are tempting! I wish I'd waited a few weeks to pick up the 8 inchers from you!

How many years can you get out of them when they are new? I got the 8 inch bags on clearance a few weeks ago, and I picked up some used ones on ebay that are in various conditions. I'm wondering if I'll need to replace the used ones after one year.

I scrapped up the last 5"ers. John what's in the 35 piece deal, I might take that too?

John, what is the best time to plant the hybrid willows and popular? thanks

How big are the fcr 14?

Sorry Rally, I have never used the in-ground containers myself. I've only ever used the above ground (white) bags. Hopefully someone else here can answer your question? I know the above ground bags can be reused at a slightly smaller diameter for a couple of seasons.

Sorry Dipper, I don't know what the heck happened to the description on that item. It had one when I first added it to the store!

The FCR14's that I have for sale are different than shown on rootmakers site... The ones I have are white fabric walls, with the green mesh bottom. Looks like they changed them. Here is a link to the current model:

I received these a couple of years ago by accident (wrong item, didn't get the one I ordered) and didn't notice until it was too late.

The price I have on the site is about 70% off retail. I want them gone!

Kansas - they should be planted around your last frost date:
