Broken front leg survival?

My dad shot this one in the leg last year. He seems to be doing alright. I've seen him a couple times this year. I shot a buck and he chased after a 4-pointer and the doe my buck was with following that.

Looks like he's made it through the winter once again. He doesn't seem to venture far as I've not got him on camera anywhere but this field. I saw him numerous times last season in this spot. In fact, I shot a buck. A small one then bred a doe he was with. This buck later chased after the two.
