Bluehill 2025

I ordered 6 pear and 10 persimmon from them. I'm going to test the limits of the hardiness zones they advertise. I hope the trees live and the deer like pears.

Time to buy some caging material.

I was tempted, but I already have a few persimmons coming and I've decided I have enough apples.

They don't have much for apples. It's mostly pear trees and some persimmon seedling bundles.

Last year I got trees from them for $20 and im close enough for pick up. If that was the deal this year I'd grab some more.

Deer love pears. The pear trees I got this year were close to 1" caliper. It was impressive. No excuses, dig more holes. It might stink today, but you will be glad you did it in 5 years.

Is it possible to add a tree to an order? It won't even let me check out with one tree.

I'd order it for pick up and ask him to ship it with your existing order. You can call too.

Thanks, guys. I'll try to sort it out today.

I ordered two persimmon trees and left a note to add them to my other order. If I don't get an email from them in the next few hours I'll call them.

I already got an email correcting the date of my latest order from today to the date my original order should be shipped. They haven't changed the new order from pickup to my delivery address, but it seems like they known what they are doing, so I'll wait a week or so before I follow up. They're probably busy now, and my ship date isn't until May 1st.

I might grab some persimmons. I have a few seedlings that are some of the first trees I planted. Probably 6-7 years old now. But still have yet to flower so I'm not sure if they're male or female.

Yup, the Rifle Deer Pear I ordered was right around an inch in diameter. I have been planting pears from various nurseries for several years (mostly Kieffer, Ayers, and Bartlett) and have had very few pears produced until about year 6-10 depending on the cultivar. Which pears have you had that produce in 5 years?
