Get the hell out of here! Those are amazing! Are these mostly surface or rock bed finds?

We are mostly in Putnam and Adair Counties.

Dads point was a field, all of mine were creeks, the point from grandad was a surface find while farming.

These artifacts were found mostly by my mom and dad into the 60's and very early 70's around I believe Red Wing,Minnesota.
My parents use to dig around different sites before us kids were born, I believe they thought it was some sort of wintering ground. They talked very little about their adventures and how they found them. My dad has passed away and mom's memory is sketchy at best.

Most of dads family lived along the Chariton river just south of you, these are all family finds from that area.20220423_202034.jpg

Some more arrowheads. I'm not sure where they collected these.....from friends,colleagues...don't know. My dad said something about being involved with the minnesota archeological society??? We could never get a real story out of him. The last pic says "July 20th 1895" and its a rock, really smooth with a hole in it....don't know what it was used for...

The stone in the last pic is a gorget, fantastic artifact!

Ill get a picture of it. I also have an elk rack at home that my great uncle found in a dried up slough in Central Minnesota in the 1950s. Its petrified and weighs a ton but still in great shape after all those years. Its a big massive bull. Who knows how long it was in that pond? 75? 100 years? Maybe 1000 years? would be fun to know.View attachment 42533

And fishtail daltons in your earlier pic? Amazing.

Daltons in the first pic, not the next one, it is actually related to sedalia. I don't think it has a type name, other than a relative or eared form of sedalia.20220423_220557.jpg
