Alsike

nwmn

5 year old buck +
Headed to the farm today and noticed the alsike clover that got resurrected from the seed bed after replanting crp grasses is getting hammered under the snow. we have a pile of sugar beet tailings and there is a nice beaten down trail leading to what looks like a minefield in the dead middle of a 10 acre wide open field. deer are hitting both the tailings then getting some clover.

anybody else notice them going to alsike over other clovers this time of year? we've got clover planted next to the tailing pile but it didn't get as tall as the alsike, it's a good mix of ladino, medium red, Alice, etc. this gets me thinking of planting alsike over the other stuff, or at least focus on alsike being a winter target as well
