    Spartan GoCam

Dukslayr, I have been running mine year around in WI for 3 years and ran them on my lease in MO when the cell signal allowed. Battery life is a challenge but I run either solar panels or an external battery. For more mobile set ups during hunting season I run Lithium batteries.

    Soybeans are totally demolished....

I was in the same situation with one of my small soybean plots that i knew would be decimated. I decide to spray and overseed like the suggestion above. The germination will be a bit slower than if you lightly disked - be prepared for that. If you get an good rain after overseeding you may...

    Deer must love sunflowers

Looks like I need to plant a bigger sunflower field next year if I want it to last any length of time.

Corn plot - the way I do it

I broadcasted corn for many years and had pretty good results, however I can tell you that once I got a corn planter my corn was much more consistent. Not absolutely necessary for food plotters but I certainly get more food in a given area as corn is sensitive to seed depth. I also now put...

    Will plots grow without QDMA?

While QDMA was a great resource for many years -- all will be fine and maybe better without them. Getting multiple sites re-invigorated with new ideas and input will help accelerate the spread of knowledge. Those serious about managing habitat and food plots will find plenty of websites with a...

    Deer must love sunflowers

Sunflowers by me also disappear very quickly without an efence. Next year that ?might be in my plans! I wonder how long 2 acreas of mature sunflowers would last once teh fence came down?

    Got my brassicas in

As long as you get some rain - that will be a great plot. At 3 lbs acre I think you will get some monster turnips. I need to rent one of those drills and give it try. If I do I think I would spray and then no till directly into the sod with my lighter soils.

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

Scott44, That is my same experience when broadcasting seeds no till. Germination can be significantly delayed that is why timing with rains with this approach for me is important on my sandy soil.

    Got my brassicas in

That is big field of brassicas!. You must have a high deer density or no Ag in the area. I have looked at renting a no till drill but always fall back to broadcasting and cultipacking. Sometimes I will spray if needed. It seems you could get by with less prep tillage with a no till drill in...

    Brassicas in row crops..

I have good luck doing the same thing into my corn and soybeans each year. Some years are better than others in results. Timely rains are key for me if planting in July on bare ground. I have had some years when Pigweed and Ragweed invade the plot before brassicas could get going. The plot...
