Asian pears

Melrose

Yearling... With promise
Anyone know a a good place to order Asian pears? I usually order from Adam's County nursery but they are sold out. Just bought some new ground and I want some pear trees to plant.
Thanks!!!

Cummins shows 2 types in stock. Yoinashi and Atago.

And a fun fact - an Atago pear recently made the record books at 6 lb 8 oz. Who needs a pumpkin patch with pears like that?

I have been quite happy with 39th Parallel.

Asian pears are my favorite for deer and also to eat.I don't remember where I got mine

I’ve got a few of the Olympic/Korean Giant and have been pleased with the growth so far.
None are old enough to have fruit yet maybe 4-5 year. I’m wanting to get more into the Asian pears and put a few more varieties out.
Got mine from Cummins on OH97.

New asian cross from U OF M , hardy zone 4 , low fireblight , ripe mid aug , nursery number MN 121 , they named it Juicy Jewel

I'm curious to know some of the reasons you like Asian pears better for deer? I thought I had read that the Asian pears require thinning or their branches often break.

I like to plant Asian pears because I like to eat Asian pears. I take a few...deer can have the rest.
Many different varieties of apples and pears require thinning to avoid branch breaks or biannual yields.
