The wildlife group has kieffer bareroot trees for 20 a piece as well as a multitude of late dropping pears for your zone.
Wow, Chummer, 150 crabs is cutting back? Good for you!
I have these from Cummins and I'm propagating a RM18 flat of unknown crab off our land from seed:
Three Apple - Dolgo Crab - B.118
Six Apple - Franklin - B.118
Three Apple - Virginia Crab (Hewe's) - B.118
One Pear - Hosui - OHxF 97
Two Pear - Moonglow - OHxF 87
One Pear - Shinko - OHxF 97
They don't really count. 6-12" bare root, I just stick them on the field and plot edges. I can do those faster than 5 grafted trees.
As far as our winters go it has been great. We have had a lot of snow but every storm has been followed by a warm up. Lots of rain too, which is strange, has kept the snow pack down. That being said we have a long way to go. 3' last weekend and another 2-3' this week. That could send thing in the wrong direction fast. I saw some deer a couple weeks ago and they still looked fat.Chummer hows your winter been? Has it been up & down like mine are has it still been consistent where your at?
I have 100 B118's and 20 MM106 rootstocks ordered. a dozen or so different rootstocks in my stoolbed, 5 wild apple rootsuckers I dug up last summer and potted, and 60+ varieties of scion that I've bought or swapped for.
Yea I've got my addiction under control.:eek::eek:
