Catscratch 5 year old buck + Apr 10, 2025 #1 Been seeing it since late winter. Tongue hangs out and fur is goofy. At first glance I thought it was just loosing it's winter coat, but after stopping and looking I've decided it's something else. Anyone know?

O OakSeeds 5 year old buck + Apr 10, 2025 #3 Catscratch ... this site will give you biologist info by county in KS. They might have some insight regarding the condition of that deer. https://ksoutdoors.com/Services/Private-Landowner-Assistance/Wildlife-Biologists

B Ben.MN/WI 5 year old buck + Apr 10, 2025 #4 I think the right thing to do would be to shoot that deer now. That move probably isn't legal, but I still think it is the right thing to do. I'd also bury that carcass to hopefully prevent other animals from coming in contact with it.

Catscratch 5 year old buck + Apr 10, 2025 #8 It's tongue is always out. And maybe it's a great example of Darwinism... should be dead but it's the toughest deer ever!

tooln 5 year old buck + Apr 11, 2025 #14 I'd try a biologist or vet. Also leaning towards putting her down and having examined after.
