Weed ID

Mike O

5 year old buck +
Have a weed that I do not know the name of starting to become a problem in the clover plot behind the house. In order to come up with a plan to get rid of it I first need you guys to help me ID it. It grows in clumps and has long round stems that have a small clump of what looks like leaves and seeds. It did not respond to clemethium or 2-4DB. Guessing some kind of sedge. I am not talking about yellow nutsedge.

Sounds like horsetail. Not much you're going to do to get rid of it.

Definatly not a grass. some kind of rush I believe.

Looks like the rush that grows on edges of my pond but way smaller and stalks are in very tight clumps.

Post a pic if you want a definitive answer

I wish I knew how to post a photo, would have been the first thing I did.

Where you reply between the chain link and the smiley face is insert a image. Click that, then click the dotted box and find you image on your computer or camera. Did the one below. Sometimes you need to bring some cardboard or wite paper as a background for the weed. IT can be hard to see details with other plants behind it. We have a plant ID section, I just posted a pic of my new plant that showed up. Need to reshoot that image.

Looks a lot like this but thinner stems. Grows in thicker bunches too.
