We had a really wet spring with lots of acres going unplanted around me then this summer the water was turned off and apparently we have drought conditions. We've recieved 3'+ inches of rain the last couple days so we're really soaked again.
Hope we get some rain soon. The 12” from the last few weeks just isn’t enough to make it the shittiest corn and bean harvest ever at this point. Mud the shit in and then mud it out in the fall. I know a couple farmers that will probably just turn the gun on themselves if it continues. Farm morale is as low as I have seen it in 15+ years.
We had 9.5" in Sept and this was the rain gauge when I got up last night for the last 6 days. Supposed to rain today and I hear the drops starting to fall on the skylights right now ...
Share some with a brother. We've had 3/4" since the beginning of Sept. Of course 90-100 degrees everyday. Farm is a dustbowl. But time too plant...anyway
Gunna be a long winter if this is how things start off. Ugg, felt like I just put the shovels an blower away, 40 mph winds not helping. Not right if I have to walk through snow for the pheasant opener.
