Curious on the groups observations of the jet stream and rain. For the last two years as spring starts I believe the coldness in the north and the warmth in the south makes the gulf of America dominate and push rain north. But as it is now once it heats up, the fronts comes from the west and it becomes bone dry usually beginning in August and can last till November. We have places in michigan 8 inches below normal rainfall for the year Curious on your thoughts

The professional weather folks made the comment earlier in the Summer that is will be one of the most humid Summers on record. For the reasons surrounding the gulf moisture you indicated, the moisture is being allowed to push farther north. Also the reason for the torrential rains in the areas that are getting the rain. The atmosphere is loaded with moisture. There were parts of KS that got 13" of rain just the other day. Probably 1/3 of their yearly total in less than 24 hours.
