Remember, we were told we'd clean up iraq in a week and we'd be done. And I think that's how long it took before this legendary photo op was cemented in our history. Three presidents later, we were still there.
What troubles me is, The US state department and pentagon have spent decades and hundreds of billions of dollars helping Iran build up their cash and weapons arsenals. I do not think those were simple gifts. I think that was a strategic seeding for another 20 year war on our part. None of these countries can fight us on their own.
They would not survive 48 hours without us giving them the weapons, money, and advisors to fight our soldiers. And even at that, the only reason they can stay in the fight is because our presidents do not allow our troops to engage. Obama had marines taking bombs and gunfire and wouldn't let them shoot back.
Was anyone worried about Iran having a nuke ten days ago?

No way we put boots on the ground. Again just a prediction, but I don't think Trump is willing to do that.

Agreed. It's also not necessary. We're just assisting Israel with ordnance they don't have but that they need to declaw the Iranians.

I think Trump was ready for this before Isreal took out Iran's airforce. Then when Iran said they wouldn't negotiate while under attack it gave the green light. Maybe refusing to, or putting negotiations under conditions isn't going to work with this administration?

Thank you for your service. There was no draft , you spent most of your 20's in Iran because that's the job you signed up for.We had intelligence showing Iraq had WMD’s. That caused me to spend most of my 20’s on either side of Iran. I’d like to see a picture of an “almost” nuke in Iran. It’s probably right underneath the Epstein files they are going to release 2 months ago.

If you go back to Iraq, they did have chemical weapons. I’m not sure why that was looked upon as no big deal. Saddam gassed his own people !

Really who cares how close Iran was to actually getting a nuke just the fact that religious fanatics wanted them is really enough in my book. I never understood the fixation on WMD alligator tears either but the libs always need something cry about this is just what they like to hang their hat on.

Obama probably pushed it more than any before him with military actions without congress approval. He justified it by saying he was only taking out terrorist with drones but then killed thousands many of which were civilians while he was in office. He mostly justified it by keeping it quiet and the fact individuals and not countries. Trump just dropped a huge amount of bombs with US jets against a foreign country without congress and justifies it by saying not war on a country just war on nuclear weapons. I do not want one person to have the power to bomb unless we are currently under attack, period. When Biden was mentally slipping due to age he still had the power apparently to bomb Russia or China if he wanted to just because he was the President, did any of us want him to have this power? If we do not want to vote with entire congress at least have a group of ten appointed to vote or some type of checks in place. As much as you may trust Trump you will probably not trust the next Dem. in office. Obama and Trump were acting like kings bombing without some checks in place.
Don't get me wrong I am glad Obama killed terrorist and Trump ended Iran's nuclear power but one man should not have power to make acts of war. Very dangerous and not American

My military friends called Obama "The Executioner in Chief". He was trigger happy and kept it out of the media, which I'm not completely against.
