Tripod Ladder Stand Recommendations

PatinPA

5 year old buck +
I have a spot at our hunting club in WV that is in the middle of a fairly new clearcut. I've been hunting out of a ground blind for a couple of years because there aren't any mature enough trees to get in. There are a few evergreens but only 4-6 inch diameter. I thought a tripod stand I could tuck into a clump of the evergreens might work out.

Anyone have any experience with them? It'll be an archery stand. A lot I've looked at only have a rail that goes around to put your feet on. I don't mind shooting seated but I'd prefer to have a platform of some sort. Are there any with adjustable legs? I doubt I'll find a perfectly level spot to put it on. Tips for anchoring them?

thanks

My dad picked up a tripod cheap on FB marketplace. I'm not very eager to climb into it. What's your budget? How high do you want to be?

Maybe we could recommend something with 4 legs and a platform. There are better options these days. Example: https://millennium-outdoors.com/product/q-250-00-solo-buck-hut/

My cousin bought a 5' blind platform and put a popup blind on it.

It's got to be somewhat mobile, I'll have an ATV to haul it in and out but getting a truck close is impossible. We're "technically" supposed to remove all stands at the end of the season. Although that rarely occurs, but I do follow those rules. I'm looking $350 max. I want to be as high as I can reasonably get. 16 ft would be preferable but 12 might actually be better to hide in amongst some trees.

This is what it looks like with a few patches of small evergreens here and there.

You're going to be sticking out pretty bad at 16'. Muddy Liberty Tripod doesn't look too bad. You can get a camo kit for it too.

$360 at Optics planet is the lowest I could find.

Ya I was thinking 12 ft might be a better option. The evergreens are probably 20 ft tall. Not sure if they left them stand or they just grew faster. Clearcuts don't grow very tall very fast down there for some reason.

That stand says 16' to the rail, so I'd guess around 12' to the floor. They sell a 4' extension kit for it but buying both puts you into a different price range of stands.

You may have seen my recent post about the South Texas tripod stand I have. It's their bowhunter setup, so it's a seat up there and nothing else.
Because of that, and the extremely spartan arrangement of re-bar welded in that they call a ladder, getting in it is sketchy at best, down right terrifying bundled up in the dark.

I knew they made a rifle version with a shooting rail. I see now they make a hybrid where the front rail flips up out of the way.

I have no idea how old this stand is, so can't say how it matches up with current production, but I can say I'm not terribly impressed with it. If you saw it, and I told you I made it myself, you'd believe me.

Yes Guide Gear has one that looks like it wobbles in the picture. Maybe if I can anchor the legs down well and maybe ratchet one to a tree. The sturdier ones all seem like they're made for rifles with the shooting rails. Maybe I can just leave them off though too.

Sounds like a plan. Can you will your guns to me, just in case it doesn't work out...
