Third spring after logging

That's why I want to get after the big swamp maples. Their leaving a hole in the middle of this timber. I'm 3 years late but I figure it will give me staggered year regrowth.
I followed up my initial cut with another one a few years later as well. At the time I cut the first time the value of walnut was down and I really wasn't interested in cutting it. A few years later I had a need and the price improved. We went in and cut it and some others as well. I actually look forward to the next one in 10 to 15 years. As much as I feared the saw initially on a grand scale - I now have to make sure I don't cut down too much!!!

I hear you. I tend to get saw happy myself.
But it always seems to pay off.

Ha ha
I just happened on this today. If it's offensive, I didn't make it.

Apparently I'm in "pretty much Alabama" and have duck hunted toxic swamps for years.

Wow - that's an interesting diagram. I was in NJ for an afternoon once......flew into Philly and drove across the river. I don't even remember exactly where I was. All I know was I was looking for a classic GTO to buy. Turned out the guy was trying to screw me over (selling a clone as the real thing) - because of the "hood" I was in I didn't speak my mind......I may be dumb, but not stupid! I got the hell out of there and never looked back! That was my NJ adventure.
