Switchgrass rookie and trying to verify what is coming up. I planted RWWP switch by frost seeding a bean field in February. Is this switch?

You will see little hairs where the sheath meets the stem. 1st year switchgrass seedlings don’t have that many shoots coming up. You will also see some purple at the bottom of the stem. That does not look like switchgrass to me. I bet most switchgrass that was frost seeded this year is just starting to germinate.

I did a small section of new switch and I have found a few small switch seedlings. They are only about an inch tall. Single shoot with a only two leaves. 10F71C12-CC33-416E-B9B0-B2DEB42194DD.jpeg

Thanks. Makes sense and I noticed the purple was absent.
