that disc will be useless on any ground but maybe super soft top soil that has never settled
them small disc were made for being pulled behind riding lawn mowers, and they just don't have enough weight to them(down force) to do much, you'd be wasting your time with it, and money to replace disc's and build a draw bar
sorry, NOT what you want to hear, but being honest to you!
you will get more ground turned over using a walk behind tiller, and even that will be VERY slow goings to make a decent sized plot.
if you DON"T have a tractor and a bigger sized disc, best advice I can give you, being where you live(farm belt area more or less) Hire a local with a tractor and a disc to do your ground turning over, be money well spent, and save you a LOT of time and up keep
even ATV sized disc, are NOT that great on HARD ground, due to again, they just don;t have the real weight needed, and if you DO add enough weight, they will be killing your atv pulling them for hrs to do an acre sized plot
YES it can be done and MANY do it, but again, there are better ways of getting it done
WE have 6 different ATV designed Disc's in my hunting camp, we tried a BUNCH of them, and we have about a dozen assorted atv's from 350's to 1,000 cc sized one's there.
I have DONE small plots with an ATV for almost 20 yrs now, but its a LOT of seat time and energy to make em, a CHEAP tractor is less than an atv and a decent Tractor DISC is less than a GOOD ATV designed disc, so the math say something if you look at it
AGAIN< you can most likely get a local with a tractor to turn your ground over rather easy if you ask about!
NOT the same as doing it yourself, I get this, but , trust me, its the better option till you get better tools to work with yourself!
and YES< I had 2 of these SMALL disc for riding mower, were given to me by original owners, and after TRYING to make them work, I know why they gave them away for free LOL
will do nothing but frustrate you and do little dirt turning over LOL
SORRY< again, just being honest to you!
I'm 1 hr+ north of you too?
