SE MN Deer

My brother spotted this deer on SE MN family property, sickly and bug eyed yearling. Called the local CO for permission to shoot it for CWD testing, CO said one sick deer does not constitute testing and did not aprove shooting the deer.

My brother got within 5 yards and did not observed any physical injury. Hope this is poisoning or some other nerological disease and not CWD. Thoughts on this sick deer?

Could be the case. A couple of years ago they issued a couple of hundred tags out of season to cull and test for CWD, don't think any tested positive.

Yikes!
If it was me I would smack my brother.

Honorable intent but if it did test positive your farm would be MN ground zero and the conservation dept would kill every deer in an undetermined radius around you.

I wouldn't worry unless several deer start looking like this. Could be many reasons this one isn't thriving.
