Bur - just to clarify... in my post about coal mine seepage, I know you don't have coal mines there. That's what the documentary was about, but the studies showed that swamps/wetlands improve both surface and groundwater ANYWHERE - no matter what the circumstances. They're one of nature's filtering systems.

No fish in these ponds.

The back dugout might have a few minnows. as we have seen them in the creek that leaves the pond. There are no fingers in this pond. Just a rectangular dugout that cost me $300. Drainage ditches run for miles and empty into this pond. It is pretty much creek after it leaves this pond.

Sunfish get big and fat over the summer if you throw them in a pond. Don't ask me how I know that ;)
