Rootmaker RootBuilder II container parts

When I first started using RB2 containers, they came with zip ties. You used them and cut them when you removed the tree, and then replaced them to reuse the container. The last batch I purchased came with little white plastic rings that are reuseable. They work just as well and can be kept in one side of the container when you open them up. I like them. I decided to try to get some for my older containers. Just thought I'd post a note here in case you lose yours or have older containers like me with zip ties.

They are not identical, but I think they are close enough to work.

Do you find the containers splitting on you? I've had mine for about 3 years and some have come apart on me. I can zip tie it back up where it splits but I've started chucking them when I take the tree out. Mine were the smallest diameter ones, about 3-4" diameter. I assume they'd last longer with a larger diameter as the bend radius is less tight.

I've never had a 1 gal or larger split. When I first started evaluating them, John sent me a couple of the small diameter ones to try. I didn't like them can see where they might split over time. I had a rat/squirrel/skunk/whatever chew some holes in a few of them on my deck.

It was pretty easy for me to establish a business account with Rootmaker. Wholesale prices are pretty competitive. Shipping can be a bit expensive if you order something where the bottoms come from a different factory than the sides. Once you establish a wholesale account you can see the wholesale prices online.

When I was testing them out when I started and only needed a few containers, I ordered mine for John at Bigrock. His prices were pretty competitive with other retail prices and I like the idea of supporting folks with our common passion. If his online store doesn't show a rootmaker product you want, it is worth giving him a call or shooting him an email.
