Raising a box blind

I do exact same and it works. Only difference is I try to lift up the blind off the ground as much as possible so the starting point is as high as possible. This takes some of that initial pressure off the legs, as someone mentioned. I’ll typically have a few guys lift it up in short bursts and wedge a stack of pallets or even cut logs underneath it just to get the blind started before engaging the winch and getting that under tension. I learned this the hard way after bending the steel legs on a Banks blind before incorporating the pallets/logs.

That's what I said in my earlier post. Getting past that initial 4-5' of lift is hard, so lifting manually to start will help a lot before you start lifting with the strap. I use a Hi-Jack lift as I am usually doing this by myself.

Gravity is a bitch! 😝

Love that tool but surprisingly none of my friends have one or rarely know what it is. Fleet Farm still sells USA made vs the chinesium ones at half the price. Not as much a fan of FF since they were sold out to a hedge fund whatever
but they still do something right.

Actually Fleet Farm was bought by a New York investment bank. Blains Farm & Fleet is still a family owned business owned by the Blain-Gilbertson's.

I shop a lot at Farm & Fleet and they are a good store. Went in to a Fleet Farm the other day ... Uggghh, what a disappointment.

And you are right, The Hi-Lift is a great tool. Has saved may butt and back many times!

Yep....those jacks been around as long as I can remember.....even as a kid maybe 65+ years back......I remember we used them for many farm related tasks. Though, those jacks when not used right, can inflict allot of pain to folks. That long jack handle can move pretty fast if you release it at the wrong time or don't quite understand the means to lock that mechanism for the next move.

Telephone poles can be cut to size. Use a chainsaw to make a notch for the rope and dig a trench about 8 to 12” and go slow.
