I purchased some on sale bareroot apple trees that are leafing out. Leaves are about the size of squirrel ears. Is it okay to prune them as I would a dormant bareroot small apple tree. I usually remove all the branches and cut the stem down to 30 in.
Maybe go a bit lighter on it. I more let the roots dictate what I do to the trees. Less roots, less leaves. Using somethign to seal the cuts might be a good idea.
