Looks good Mo...did you go all radish on that one?

Yep, I have been using up some leftover seed. I think it is the right choice so far anyways!

Pretty tough to go wrong with radishes

Much better throw and grow luck with Radishes when compared to PTT or DER in my bean fields.

Sunflowers did really good under 5 foot grass thatch as well. Threw in soybeans, sunflowers, radish and rapes but the sunflowers really germinated well this year.

I have been getting very good stands out of "The Tillage Radish" from cover crop solutions. I sell a bunch to the farmers to fly on there corn fields. And I think because of the type of coating that they use on their seed, it really helps the germination rates in less than ideal conditions.

^^^Is it one of those water absorbing polymer coatings or what?

I think I was told it was a combination of a absorbing coating and seed treatment to help guard against soil borne diseases. It adds about .50 per pound, but I really think it is worth it. At least from what I have seen from the 4 years I have been selling them. I will try and find out exactly what it is if possible.

I got my radishes from MO. 1/3 radish, 1/3 PTT, 1/3 DER. Over seeded into bare spots in beans.

Would this be the same "Tillage Radish" sold by welters?

That's OK BJE, an old timer once told me, "My 'radish' might not be big, but it keeps ME happy!";):D

Were these the ones planted in May/June, or was that someone else?

I'm fairly certain his shirt has the Japanese phrase "I never get laid so I grow large daikon radish for kicks" on it.

Wow! That's a girthy tuber. I'd bet ours aren't a quarter of that yet and we had some come up in July.
