outfitted hunts on your land

If my daughter or close friend wanted to hunt ducks, I'm inclined to say no thanks. In fact, I'd jump at the chance to spend time in the field or marsh with my kid(s) even if I wasn't that interested in waterfowl hunting. The memories would be "priceless". With that said, I might consider it if my daughter only went 1 or 2's a year. The outfitter would have to understand that. There would also need to be some rules in place such as closing gates, trash pick up, etc. etc.

These guys have a big lodge and their own chefs about an hour from me. I already have to deal with some people wanting to hunt but never wanting to work.My buddy that deer hunts with me and we travel for elk and antelope some.He always buys some stands or comes and works and thats the difference. When my kids were younger I had a day ,it was always good friday that any kid that wanted to turkey hunt or just come to the farm this was the day that we would plant trees and shrubs. It's funny my oldest married one of the boys I took turkey and deer hunting and my youngest is dating a boy that came and planted trees 20 some years ago.

Confession… I sold one week deer hunt this year to an out of state hunter. It was prime time (Nov 7 week). I will never sell more than one week (already turned down people for next year). Doing it to help with the mortgage.

Candidly, it ended up being much more enjoyable experience than I expected. I stayed at the cabin with him. Good times hanging out. He had a shot at the biggest deer on our farm on his first morning hunt. And he ended up dropping his biggest deer he’s ever shot, though I would consider it a management buck for our property. I was thrilled to see how much joy it brought him. Made a new friend. And he wants to come back in 5 years.

Sounds like a good deal for everyone. Did you have to get any kind of insurance coverage to cover injuries? What kind of rules did you have in place regarding buck size, wounding, etc.?
