I got some oriental pear seed but had poor germination. I did get 2 nice seedlings out of it and planted them last fall. I got a couple Shinko and Korean Giant scions from Cliff England. I plan to graft them. I planted them next to the "Kieffer Pear" trees my partner planted. I put it in quotes because the trees are huge and over 5 years old and I've only seen two pears and they don't look like Kieffer. I'm guessing they were mislabeled and require a pollination partner. I'm not certain if I can graft the Shinko or Korean Giant scions to these trees or if they will pollinate them since I don't really know what kind of pears they are, but I figure I'll give it a shot. I'll just top work a branch or two on a tree in each cluster.
Thanks,
Jack
