Drill and Drive away method.
This is one of my favorite methods - especially in the Summer. We had a great stand of Carbon Load in this field. We had rain in the forecast, and the ground was already somewhat soft due to previous rains.
Instead of getting the tow behind crimper potentially stuck or using more herbicide than needed. We simply drilled our Nitroboost into the standing carbon load and drove off.
The deer are in here every day eating the new emerging NB and of course the existing CL.
It might not be pretty but it works!

Customer and friend @csulli16 planted our oats, clover and chicory last fall, here is the results today. Per Customer “no herbicide used, tallest and thickest clover ive grown”
This is why we preach balance in all of our mixes from clover to our core products. Using the oats and annual clovers to smother weeds, let the perennials become established, and let biology handle the rest.

Yes and if they do - they are not as “tough” when it comes to mowing off. My experience is that a low rate of a good quality oats, allows the clover to establish well before the oats die and the clover over winters - without excess competition. Once established established. I am fine with over seed oats, rye, ww, brassicas, etc. into a clover patch.
