Nwsg and establishing it in a sandy field

TxA&Mhunter

5 year old buck +
So we are looking at seeding native grass in a pasture in lavaca county Texas (mid south).
The area we have been planting food plots however it's impossible to get into to hunt...
we figured nwsg would benefit us in Holding deer on the property.

Info
The soil- sand with a ph of 5.2
It has been notilled with various food plots
Food plots have grown well here when fertilized
It's currently got electric fence all the way around.

What mixes or grasses would work best?

I can't recommend a mix for you but I would recommend meeting with a local NRCS office as they would have a good idea on what would work in your area.

Find out what varieties are recommended for your area, what I do is kill area in fall plant wheat and and then when ready to plant what I prefer is switch I would spray the wheat then drill the switch. If planting switch you should be able to plant with any drill. If you get snow or freezing weather then I would keep seed for a winter or frost seed during a freeze or right before a snow. Then in spring keep mowed 12-18 inches first year
