Anyone have experience with ALPHA NURSERIES in Holland Michigan?? My regular nursery owner in Pa. retired and closed up - but he recommended ALPHA NURSERIES to supply his customer base.
Nope. Not sure what you are looking for, but have had good success with Cold Steam Nursury in MI.
I've gotten several varieties from Cold Stream - American high bush cranberry, witch hazel, ROD - and all were nice stock. I'll order from Cold Stream again.I continually hear good things about this company.
Same here. Hazelnut, Chinese Chestnut, Amer. Plum, Buttonbush, Elderberry, and Ninebark. All in good shape and growing well! Definitely will continue to use them.I've gotten several varieties from Cold Stream - American high bush cranberry, witch hazel, ROD - and all were nice stock. I'll order from Cold Stream again.

Why would a nursery close and not sell the business to another person -or-company? Demand should be there? No takers?
No idea. One would think that a buyer would jump on an established nursery. Might be like H20 said above - keep the land in the family? They had great stock too Bought lots of evergreens from them. Why would a nursery close and not sell the business to another person -or-company? Demand should be there? No takers?
Musser was always higher-priced than Flickinger's Nursery (the nursery I used for years for evergreens). I've used Pine Grove Nursery in Clearfield too. They have good stock, so I guess I'll shift to them. Thanks for the Musser thought though!!Maybe I missed what you're looking for, but Musser Forest in Indiana PA should have evergreens. I bought from them many years ago. Nothing recently.
