NFL Football Games.....Live discussion

I'm a Packers fan Bill, he's not my QB.

I'm not the one breaking down his footwork.

I can see that he's historically bad, and the stats back that up. It would be nearly unprecedented for a player to start his career this poorly and turn it around to become even average.
Jordan Love looked like shit as a rookie , he still has his moments . If you look at his first six games Love was 2-4. As a rookie he had similar numbers to McCarthy. He was fortunate to sit on bench and learn the game .

I think he’s an average QB . I guess we will find out this year in the playoffs, if he wins a game or two .

Rams & Eagles look tough to beat right now !

Jordan Love didn't play as a rookie except for garbage time and when Rodgers missed a game with covid and the Packers nearly beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead. This shouldn't surprise anyone but the Chiefs blitzed him relentlessly that game.

Mccarthy sat on the bench all last year, why didn't he learn the game? He's had two training camps as the starter and he's awful, it's very unlikely he progresses to anything close to average.

Love is firmly a top 10 QB in the league by just about every efficiency standard, most have him in the top 5.

Not a Vikings fan but spending this much time and effort on a team you say you don't even like? Is this the same thing as you're not a liberal? I'm confused. And I'm not breaking down his footwork. If you'd actually watch the game with even a little bit of knowledge you could see his footwork is all over the place. I'm sorry that you don't know sports well enough to see it. But there's no reason for you to be a dick about it
I live in MN, my co-workers are vikings fans. Its a friendly rivalry and whether or not McCarthy is a good player will mean a lot for the rivalry over the near future.

Where was I being a dick about anything?

It will always be hilarious to me that anyone who doesn't ball wash Trump is a liberal to people like you.

He was 2-4 in his first 6 games ! Top 10 , Top 5 that’s a laugher ! He’s not even Top 10 ?

Pat Mahomes
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
Matthew Stafford
Justin Herbert
Jalen Hurts
Dak Prescott
Joe Burrow
Jalen Hurts
Jared Goff
Jayden Daniels
CJ Stroud
Sam Darnold
Bo Nix

NFL.com has him rated 15th (in his 6th yr now).

Those aren't efficiency stats its list of somebody's opinion. Hurts so good he was listed twice?

Lol the response I would expect from the left...
Pretty much everything you posted was being a dick. You think you know things that you don't.

You learn football by playing football it's really not that hard to understand... If memory serves he wasn't exactly on the bench he was injured so couldn't practice?

Hurts is definitely twice as good as Love . Love past 3 games (yards ..176, 174, 139) QB rating … (41.9, 75.3, 76.1)

If you think that is impressive … go look at Staffords numbers or Drake Maye)

Uh oh, it looks like the bears might be the real deal. I didn't see all of yesterday's game but it looked like a pretty good bear down. An actual coach, and A qb .. watch out .

I was a qb for our highschool team in Ok, largest school classification, state championship under my belt. My qb coach was a former byu qb. I learned alot about footwork, release, proper throwing techniques, from this dickhead. We ran the option, and still passed when we needed to.
I had alot of the qb technique mastered, could throw the ball hard and far, decent speed. Even at my best, I could only handle about half of what I see pro qb's have to handle/process. I could lead my team, but my shortcoming was proper reactions to the speed of the game.
Technique is only one tool. I've seen some hof pro qb's with terrible footwork, and some have all the technique/athletic talent in the world, top 1%, but they can't: process the game fast enough, or understand it well enough, or, they simply just may not be able to lead their offense. I see about half of the qb's in the nfl right now who fit that mold. They hold their team back, and will never lead them to a championship.
They've all been playing QB all their life, with the best coaching avail, and are all in dedication/committment wise to fullfill their dream of being a hof qb in the nfl. Yet 95% of em don't have it, for one reason or another, to be able to achieve elite status. The elite qb's, somehow someway, figure out a way to make it happen by leading their team and performing in the clutch.
Combine my playing experience with coaching football for 7 years, and I'll say that there's just some attributes that can't be taught or earned, you have to be born with it.
I don't really like him, but Brady is a great example. Looks like he's dragging an anchor when he runs, his technique is just ok imo, but when the games on the line, he comes thru and wins the championship. Cousins, Carr, Tua, Herbert, Purdy, etc, it's obvious they'll never get there.

oh yeah, DO NOT EVER BET ON FOOTBALL GAMES!!

Isn't that the truth! Finding a QB who can put all the pieces together is a rare thing. There's a lot to be improved by some of the O-lines too. When you see O-linemen getting pushed backwards into the QB's face .... or not maintaining blocks when needed - not much a QB or running back can accomplish with miserable O-lines. Feet out of position so many times on TV games - D-linemen just juke them and it's TFL time.

Yep , & even Dan Marino & Jim Kelly never won a Super Bowl! Kelly should have, his kicker missed a FG to win it … by just a few feet .

I ran the option/veer as a qb, with alot of play action/reads, and a little drop back passing. Problem was, my offensive line averaged 6'5", 265lbs. (yes it was highschool, yes we were huge back in 1982) I was 5'8", 150lbs. I couldn't see over my offensive line on dropbacks if things didn't go right, so mostly rpo/playaction passing for me.
That being said, here's one thing I'll never forget....Those huge dudes on the D are wayyy faster than you think. They take long strides, got long arms, and are on you quick, trying to murder you. I can't imagine trying to block, or play against some of these beasts in the NFL. Everyone talks about a qb's footwork, but equally important is an o-linemans footwork.
I was hard-headed, and even as a qb I'd fight for every extra foot i could get. If i was a qb in the NFL around those guys, I'd be sliding for sure, lol.
I've had the opportunity to be on a major college game sideline, and briefly at a pro game sideline, and let me tell you this. From ground level, the speed and power of the Pro game is strong step up from college, and it's very noticeable. While I still feel like I could have gone pro in baseball (lol, i know), after seeing things like this, ain't no way I was every d1 talent, let alone even belong on the sideline at the pro level.

yep, Marino is easily in my top 3 qb's, maybe the best, and no superbowl. Marino was one the first qb's who had a lightning fast release.
I tend to judge qb's today on how fast their release is. I saw Matt Stafford this year throw several super fast release, no look passes. That's impressive to me for sure, and he's kicking some ass this year as a qb. I always put him in with the qb's who are decent, but can't lead their team to a superbowl, but I'm starting to change my mind about him, and the Rams look like top contenders to me right now. I'm no Rams fan, but I know a great team when I see one, gotta give them credit.

Green is good

Purple is JJ McCarthy 🤣

I still say JJ will be a good qb. I loved watching him at Michigan, I knew it wouldn't happen but hoped the packers would take him. Jes not nfl ready, games fast for him yet, couple that with a bad online (at least in the packers game they were horrid) and he's jumpy and indecisive.
Love I believe is slightly over rated. He's our guy but I don't see him as great, not yet and maybe not ever. His deep ball is not coming around like it should and heales some really bad decisions sometimes. Might come around might not.
Best qb ever to me, Montana. total package qb imo.

I must be dumb. He had a good game , but I don’t see any of the top 10 QB teams trading their guy for him ? Which team would ?

His contact is extremely high—$$ 55 million per yr —for his talent level

Let’s see if he wins another playoff game . I think he has 1 so far?
