Haha damn that one doe must have been riding pretty low after 45 pears!!I’ve picked probably 30 gallons of Kieffers this year - giving away to friends and family. Hornets are really bad this year.
PS - I was unloading an overloaded tree the other day and threw 50 pears in front of a trail cam. The next day there ere 5 pears left. Upon checking the card, I found that one doe had come in and cleaned them up.

She gotta have the screaming daemons after all those pears. You might want to check for her dragging her tail in a cool creek somewhere. And the pears were green at that!

It's a native seedling that I topworked to a Prok, which is a very big cultivar. That's a really big persimmon for a common persimmon tree!
Yes, they are starting to come around recently.Wow. You have the big boys coming around yet?
Is the drop time Sept.-Oct. for you? It's a native seedling that I topworked to a Prok, which is a very big cultivar.
That's what it looks like so far. Last year it was already into the first week of October before I saw any fall. There are still some on the tree that aren't ripe yet, so it looks like it will easily go into October this year. My trees I topworked to Miller drop all through October, and Deer Magnet is November dropping. Is the drop time Sept.-Oct. for you?
When does your natives and Deer Magnets usually wake up every year? That's what it looks like so far. Last year it was already into the first week of October before I saw any fall. Most of my native persimmons are October and November.
I can't give an exact time, but I can say that it is usually well after the danger of frost damage before you see flowers. When does your natives and Deer Magnets usually wake up every year?
Usually for me, they are waking up middle of May. Was curious to know how much earlier mine were compared to yours.I can't give an exact time, but I can say that it is usually well after the danger of frost damage before you see flowers.
The following is from my topworking notes. I typed this in my phone for future reference on when to cut scions. I like to put off cutting until as late as reasonably possible. Just a pet peeve of mine.Usually for me, they are waking up middle of May. Was curious to know how much earlier mine were compared to yours.
