One neighbor said hemp, one saidMJ.Deer eat young fresh stuff, but not so much mature. Are they growing marijuana or hemp? If it's for the giggles, that can be bad for your hunt. People are regularly in the field as well as tractors dealing with weeds, fertilizing ,etc. Not like corn or beans, a few sprayer or spreaders there a day here n there.
Could help your hunt, keep deer on your property more.
Likely its hemp. Probably wont be too tall where deer can hide in it like corn. Most is like hip high from what I have seen in NY.
Stuff stinks...... Even the folks who like the smell / taste of it get sick of the smell.
It would be a good year to A game your food plot. You'll get alot of activity from the loss of seclusion next door as well as the loss of a good food source. Trespassing might be on the up in the area.......
I once had a sick beef cow that I just couldn’t quite come up with a diagnosis. She was a pet and followed the family around. Finally they told me that over the weekend they were cutting MJ out of their small pasture and she was right by them and eating.Nope. Deer don't eat M J. Cows yes. Deer no. At least based on my 50 years experience
I guess you'll have to settle it then! One neighbor said hemp, one saidMJ.
That would be an odd thing to witness - a cow that ate MJ. Did the cow recover from its symptoms?I once had a sick beef cow that I just couldn’t quite come up with a diagnosis. That story is probably 50 years old and I had forgotten about it until I saw your post.
I seem to remember they were even burning the plants.
Neighbors generally have no idea. One neighbor said hemp, one saidMJ.
