Locking Plyers

TonySoprano

5 year old buck +
Most of my handtools are CRAFTSMAN from the 80's and 90's when they were all MADE IN THE USA. These days I'll still buy CRAFTSMAN, but since most , if not all of them are no longer made in the USA , I no longer have that Loyalty. Harbor Freight is close and Pittsburg and Doyle have a lifetime warranty, so the last 10-15 years , if I need a hand tool I shop there. That brings me to my latest tool purchase at The Dollar Tree lol . Their $5.00 TOOL BENCH Locking pliers seem just as good as my old Vice Grips. Time will tell on longevity , but For five bucks ( the price of a Mega Millions Lottery ticket) I don't think you can go wrong. I got mine to keep in a Tool bag on my Kawasaki Mule , I think it'll come in handy for fencing ,and treestand work,

Same. These days when I need new tools, I still look for Craftsman as I just like the brand. But I look for "vintage" made in the USA Craftsman tools on Ebay or FB Marketplace.

Can't go wrong with that. The closest Lowes to me is a Madhouse . I don't like going there , but they carry Craftsman. I -THINK- you can warranty broken Craftsman at Lowes or Ace hardware these days , but I haven't tried it. I've only have one Harbor Freight ratchet fail....it was a 1/4 drive and the small ball bearing wouldn't hold the socket...it kept falling off. Took it back and they gave me a new one.

Not promoting Menards line of "MasterCraft" tools, but I think all have the lifetime replacement gurantee. The few things I have that are that brand have done alright for the money they cost and a couple that broke I took back to Menards they exchanged for new at no cost to me other than my time to take the tool into the store.

I saw their website...looks good , no stores in my state though.

Used to work as a mechanic is the late 90's. Snap-on guy wouldn't break a tool set to replace a broken socket or whatever. You'd wait weeks. Went to home Depot and bought husky tools. Christmas time alot of them go on sale. That my tool time of the year.

Want an easy way to get deer hides off. Weld a T handle on the vise grip pliers. Either on the pliers body or on the adjusting nut.

These pliers work awesome. Grips bolts and the small bit on the tip bites really good on stuff.
