Little buddy heater

I have 14 blinds that have mr. buddy heaters in them. I leave them year round and so far so good for 8 years for the oldest one. They are a great tool to have in the cold temps for all day sits.

Camp, I haven't watched the vid yet but it greatly intrigues me. However the scent of the toothpaste doesn't cause deer busting?

Willy don't you brush your teeth? JK Sorry couldn't resist. I personally don't think minty freshness will spook deer. However applications week in advance I would have to imagine would dissipate smell. Haven't tried it but most likely will and when I do I'll probably try Arm & Hammer scent free tooth paste.
Willy you could've saved $350 minimum on 14 Little Traders by buying the generic.

Camp,
I don't have any teeth.
Can you give me a link to these little trader heaters please? I got a couple blinds I have planned for the future. I buy most of my stuff off of craigslist or a local forum so new price is rarely paid by me.

That is a good price and I like the bigger foot print to keep heater vertical. I definitely would have saved some money on some of them. Walmart had a clearance deal on upload_2018-1-5_7-12-26.jpeg these three years ago and I bought 4 for 30 each. I should have bought the whole end cap but didn't want to be a hog. I still like the Mr. Buddy heaters upload_2018-1-5_7-17-17.jpegbetter because they can be connected to a 20 pound tank and then I don't have to haul the pounders back and forth, its not the weight its the inconvenience.

Do those little traders make a fairly audible roar when they are running? I used the larger version attached to a 20 pound tank 25 years ago in duck blind and it was too loud for a deer stand so I stayed away from them but maybe that was a mistake as tech has changed in that time.

I have a Buddy heater and its nice and quiet - although I don't need to use it that much.

The video shows Rain-X Anti-fog and toothpaste both work. I have not tried toothpaste, but the Rain-X is not the wonderful solution they claim. It will still fog up. I found the best results with glass treatments were going over the glass twice with standard Rain-X, then the Rain-X Anti-fog. Perhaps how you polish the glass has an effect.

The best solution I have found is cracking open several windows. I had three windows open about an inch each last weekend - at 15F outside the Buddy heater was able to maintain 45F inside.

If I ever build another box it will have dual pane glass.

I have tried the Rain-X and it was not that great as you said. The toothpaste has been way better than the Rain-X so far. We just found that video this year and used it the last week or so of the season but the results were better than anything else we have tried so far. A little air with open windows is definitely great but not an option on days where wind is blowing the wrong way (meaning toward where the deer are approaching from of going to be). Our houses are set up for a predominate wind knowing deer patterns on our properties. It is nice to be able to hunt regardless of wind in a scent tight house. We will open windows a crack if the wind is right.
