Angus 1895 ask about the scope and mounts on my Model 99. So here is what I know about it.
It came with the gun which belonged to a good friends dad when he passed she offered it to me 1st because she wanted to go somewhere it would get used and appreciated. The gun is a 1949 model 99 and from what I have researched the scope and mounts were made by Kollmorgen Stith in the mid 50’s. The model is a Bear Cub 4x. The one cap was missing when I got it so I’ve been trying to find one that fits. Theres not a lot of info out there on them, the company made high quality projection equipment and periscopes for the military. The rifle optics were eventually sold to Redfield.

I’ve attached some pictures of it. Does anyone else have any information on it?

24 hour campfire has a lot of savage collecting enthusiasts in the savage forum.

check it out.

I have a stith mounted German 3/4 inch I think scope on a 99 T in 300 savage.

But my stith is first edition so extra holes were drilled into the rifle to mount the stith.

Very cool. Those mounts are really something with that middle ring. Never seen that before.
