I have never seen it that I am aware of. It's a shrub at a hotel I am staying at tonight and if it's arrowwood I will collect some of the seed before I leave in the morning..... I know arrowwood has blue "berries" but I don't have any on my place and just have not seen it first hand that I am aware of. I don't want to miss this opportunity - if it is indeed arrowwood. If it's not I sure don't want to be planting some garbage I will regret later.....

I have it from a very reliable source on another forum that this IS arrowwood. Thank you spud for looking for me.

The leaf veins alternate and split. Definitely Smooth Arrowwood ... viburnum dentatum

Yep, arrow wood. Slow to establish, but sends shoots up like crazy as it matures. A single stem will turn into a 3' circle of stems in a couple years time. Deer love it.

I collected some of the berries/seeds and will try to get them to grow. My place lacks a lot of diversity in the shrub area so when I saw these I saw an opportunity IF it was what I thought it was. I now have these to work with and will try to grow some elderberry from cuttings as well and try to spread them around the farm. Thanks for the help guys.

Good luck growing them, it will be a fun project.

Black elderberry is popping up all over my farm lately. I'm sure birds are getting the berries out of the nursery and planting them for me. I was going to fence a few of the new plants off to protect them. Much to my surprise the deer have left them alone. No protection required apparently.

Arrowood is LOVED by deer....getting them established will be huge J! Keep us posted on progress...I want to get some established at my place as well. Between arrowood and elderberry I really hope to transform sections of my bedding from bush honeysuckle to those instead over the years.
