Update on last Spring's plantings

Bowsnbucks

5 year old buck +
Just a couple notes. While at camp a couple weeks ago, I noticed that a good number of the seedlings we planted last Spring have survived, and are growing. Choke cherry, Washington hawthorn, black cherry, white oak, chestnut oak, balsam fir, gray dogwood, arrowwood viburnum, and quaking aspen are doing well. Lost a few, but that's OK - few get 100% success when we plant. Aspen are reported to be rapid growers, so hoping to see them jump this year.

How are all you gents' plantings coming along???

I planted some plum & oak last year and almost every one survived!!

I only planted a few new trees last spring, they are doing fine.
Everything young and older this year seem to be doing really well...most are flat out loaded with fruit and putting on lots of new growth, apples/pears/cherries. We had a long wet cool spring, hopefully it doesn’t get dry and cause fruit to abort.

Wet spring here in Vermont. Checked the ROD cuttings I planted the past 3 years and they're starting to look like something. I have very low deer density, so I'm able to put them in without caging.
I have seen good results from TSI, adding plots, and putting up a couple grape vine mock scrapes. Hoping to add a water hole and a scrape tree this year. Planted 4 trees from Whitetail Crabs and transplanted a couple wild apples as well. 6 acres deer mecca!
