Looks like IL has decided to suspend its sharpshooter program at least for a 5 year pilot project in high prevalence counties. They are acknowledging a flip of strategies. I'm surprised they're admitting defeat. Don't let the door hit them when they leave my neighborhood.

I cant read the article. Are they admitting it doesnt reduce prevalence, spread - or what is the reason?

Very interesting. I wonder if the sharpshooting kills contained a disproportionate amount of young and easier to kill deer resulting in an older age structure that then had a higher cwd prevalence rate.
