Hinge cutting study

I did some last weekend. Mostly soft maple and ash. This was done to open up a long narrow food plot. I'm trying to make long narrow food plots that lead to my main food plot area. Its a wide trail more or less but did not get enough sunlight.

I like killing the trees rather than hinging. Let the sunlight do the rest.

Amazing how fast the woods will regenerate with new growth. I've got a few small areas where the wild ferns get really thick and keep anything else from growing. Thick canopy about 3' off the ground and mostly bare dirt underneath. Then in the fall if I walk through those areas I'm loaded with those "half moon" looking seeds that stick to everything.
