Hope you guys all had a happy Fathers Day, as well. I'm leaving with my oldest for a 4 day fishing trip in an hour. He finished college and we're working one in before life gets nuts for him. One of the truest cliches is that you have no idea how fast time flies until you have kids. It seems like it couldn't possibly be more than 5 years ago when he was born.
After this trip, he's going to spend a month traveling on next to no cash and then who knows where he'll land. He was in a program in school that sent him to China a handful of times and has several pretty good offers there. I just hope like @#$% he stays somewhere in the states, so I can still see him more than once every 4-10 years on Christmas. So far, that's where all his opportunities are and I haven't tried to influence him not to (he doesn't read stuff like this forum). In other words, cherish them while you can. As they get older and forge lives of their own, it gets harder and harder to simply spend time together. I refuse to believe anyone looks back on their life and ever thinks, "Man, I wish I'd spent less time with my kids."
