I am trying to determine if this is an invasive honeysuckle or not. Some are quite tall, but not bushy. Growing along roadway. Located in WI.

Don't take my word for it, but I don't think it's honeysuckle.
Maybe one of the dogwoods?
What's Native Hunter say?

I agree with Tap - doesn't look right for the bush honeysuckle I've seen. But pictures can be deceiving and the amount of shade can make the bark look different too.

There is an easy way to tell - just cut a limb about the size of a pencil and see if it is hollow or not. If it isn't hollow it isn't BH.

Perfect. Thanks for the advice!

One more thing to keep in mind about BH - most people don't realize there are several different invasive varieties, and the appearance varies a little bit. I know of at least 4 (Morrow, Amur, Tartarian and Bells). I have also read that these have hybridized, so the appearance varies a lot. However, the sure fire test for all of these is the hollow stem.

Good luck.....
