Help finding a Dozer operator

Peeps

5 year old buck +
I have a few trails that need to be put in and an area that needs to be opened up for a future orchard. I'm having a hard time finding someone to do this work. I'm looking for any recommendations of an operator or business to complete this work. I've left messages at a few places but they never seem to return my calls. My land is located in NE Wi in Marinette county. Thanks for the help.

Few is your problem. They are going to loose money for a couple hours worth of work. Gotta find a small guy, or someone desperate for $.

I'm battling 2 things. One it's only a one day job but would be a full day. Two, guys are still trying to finish work from last year that they didn't get to because of the wet summer and it has been really wet again this year. Thought I'd take a shot and see if someone on here was in the area and knew someone.

I don't know someone in the area, but would suggest checking with the county soils dept and any landscaping and demo businesses in the area. Any of those often either offer the service (landscaping and demo businesses) or know of those that do (the soils dept)

You may want to try these guys. They did some work for me and did a very good job. They service three states and work for about a month and a half 7 days a week doing food plots and roads (they are out of the Wausau area). They maybe full for the year but worth a try.

Any possibility you could rent the equipment and do it yourself?

image.jpg I did some searching on Google and started making calls. Gauthier Excavating out of Iron Mountain came out to look and give a quote and then said they could do it the next day. That was yesterday and now our trails and openings are in. Mr. Church was a great operator and I would highly recommend him. He even let my son and I drive the Dozer. It was a good day all around. My wife cooked him lunch to which he said no one ever did that for him on a job.

Just out of curiosity and for the sake of other guys looking for services like this, if you don't mind answering, what was his fee?

I pay $90-100 per hour by me for a local guy. I also have a neighbor that only charges $50 but I am lucky.

I've got a farmer that leases my client's ground in IL that's ridiculously good to me and allows me to rent his D5 for $40 an hour, and doesn't charge me for time spent fixing any of the roads he may benefit from (but I/my clients need far worse). He offered $60 with an operator, if I even just want his guys to do the work.

That said, I'm typically able to get a small-medium sized dozer for $50-60/hr without an operator, $80-100/hr with, and that includes WI and a couple other states.

He charged $95 per hour and he moved fast. My wife and kids love the new trails. The deer have been exploring them too.

Good to hear it worked out for u at a reasonable cost.

That looks like very sandy soil. Can you drive on them after rains?

Ya it is a beach but the rain drains away right away. Once we got almost 2 inches in less than an hour and I was driving my truck on the ground later that day.
