Green Leaves on Xmas

I took a walk today and found a number of my young grafts and young trees with green leaves. It was in mid-60's today and we are in mildest December ever. What will this mean for the trees in the spring?

I think that's not good. If we get genuine cold after things bud out, I don't think we'll have fruit this coming year. It's 72 degrees here in S.E. Pa. today. Spooky.

Most of my apples are finally about bare. Seems like young apples lose their leaves last. Our trees are in far better shape than last year, the damage was absolutely terrible after last winter. We have had fluctuating temps but have had enough cold temps to harden every thing often for anymore cold weather we have this winter. Remember most varieties of fruit trees typically grown in the colder areas require a high number of chill hours before they will break bud in the spring.
