OUCH.Grasshoppers are eating everything out at the one farm here is a Keiffer pear tree out there.
My GCs have put on a lot of growth as well. Gonna be hard to keep them trained, a lot of limbs competing to be the central leader. One of the Gilmore Christmas pears in my yard has put on at least 4’ of growth this year very impressive. The other one that has been really struggling the last couple years has finally turned the corner I think and will likely make it just fine it put on a couple feet of growth with a new main leader low to the ground but still above the graft. This winter I’ll prune back the old main leader that has struggled since the the new one has overtaken it in a single years growth and let it be the main stem,
I haven't seen any so far, but I have no cedars around anywhere close. How is goldrush for CAR I’d love to have that apple here at the house but its stated as CAR susceptible in the literature.

My first topwork, Arkansas Black and an empire. Then a goldrush that I grafted to a dolgo rootstock.

Super eating apple for sure. But it is susceptible to CAR if you have any variety of juniper near your Goldrush tree.
