Frostbite Apples & Asian Pears

WTNUT

5 year old buck +
1. I have four Frostbite trees with are second and third leaf trees, two from one nursery and two from another. Two are 111 rootstock and two are 118. NONE of the trees have ever put on much if any vertical growth. Thew were feathered tree bare roots, but very small caliper. Any idea why growth is so bad? In same fields as other trees that do well.

2. What Asian pear varieties have done well for you?

I have a single frostbite tree that i bought from Cummins on B.118. It produced 1/2 dozen fruit in year 3. This year will be fourth leaf. The tree also showed some signs of CAR in year 3. It was on the leaves only, did not impact free.

The frostbite I have here I think theres 25 or so and all are 4th leaf this year will be 5th, my trees are not putting on a lot of growth not sure mine will be large trees , but are on smaller roots m26 maybe , but I think this variety is prone to runting out some . We have had fair fruit for the size of the tree.

Crazy yours must be no spray , is that all year or have you applied some?

Correct, last year i did not spray.

I started to wonder if mine were on different rootstock, but that does not make sense. I am thinking of cutting back like the first year tree and see if that stimulates growth. Thoughts??

I am going to bump this back up for a couple reasons. First it is not a frostbite apple that is not growing. It is a B118 Snowsweet. It was planted in the fall of 2013 and put on next to no growth last year.
